Ball of Fire Play

Merseyweb were asked to produce a commemorative programme to complement a new play depicting the life and times of the late, great Alan Ball. The proceeds of the programme are donated to Health Through Sport (www.healththroughsport.co.uk), a local Merseyside charity.

As many know too well, Alan Ball was an England World Cup winner in 1966 at just 21 years of age. If that wasn’t already a shining achievement, he was also awarded Man of the Match in the final!

His Glittering career went on to see him gain honours and success with Blackpool, Everton FC and Arsenal before venturing into management with Portsmouth, Southampton and Man City (to name but a few!).

The play, in a unique way, captures his playing days from a hopeful youngster through to retirement whilst also detailing a determined and plentiful personal life. The play takes you through the highs and lows of Alan’s life and is a must see for football fans – especially Everton FC fans.

The play piloted in 2016 at various local theatres (the Epstein, Floral Pavilion etc) and was well received by all. If you missed it though…DONT WORRY. ITS BACK IN 2017 and will be bigger and better as it has now received endorsement and sponsorship from EVERTON FC.

You can discover more and buy tickets for the wonderful play here…http://www.blueparktheatrecompany.co.uk/ball-of-fire

Its a great evening out and Merseyweb full recommends it.
